How the lights are applied
At Lotus Skin Care Center the Red or Blue Light add-on is applied after your facial while your skin is clean and relaxed. A trained technician positions an LED light source a short distance from the treatment area and delivers light in a controlled session. The process is non-invasive and performed while you recline; there is no rubbing or extraction involved during the light portion.
Because this service is offered as an add-on to facials, individual sessions are concise and focused. The Red Light or Blue Light portion lasts 20 minutes and is priced at $50 when added to your facial appointment. Timing and placement are chosen to complement the facial work already performed; results and what you notice depend on your skin condition and the facial chosen.
Choosing red or blue
Red and blue lights are selected for different, commonly reported purposes in cosmetic practice. Red light is generally used to support skin that looks fatigued or has visible surface redness after procedures, while blue light is commonly chosen when surface oil and bacteria are a concern. Neither light guarantees an outcome; choice reflects which effect is being prioritized during the facial add-on.
Your technician will recommend red or blue based on the facial you selected, your skin's current condition, and any recent treatments you’ve had. If you have heightened sensitivity, recent procedures, or concerns about photosensitivity discuss them during booking so we can plan timing and selection appropriately; this helps avoid unnecessary irritation and ensures the add-on matches your facial goals.
Post-treatment expectations
Most clients feel little more than mild warmth or gentle tingling during the light portion and experience no downtime. Because Lotus Skin Care Center is steps from the Massapequa LIRR and serves commuters and families, many people schedule the 20-minute add-on before or after work or weekend commitments. You can expect to return to normal activities immediately unless advised otherwise after your full facial.
In the coastal Long Island climate, we remind clients that sun protection remains important after treatments; bring or apply sunscreen if you plan outdoor activities at nearby parks or beaches. If your facial includes exfoliation, your technician may advise on short-term aftercare. Contact us with questions about combining this add-on with other services so scheduling fits your routine and local seasonal activities.
